Hi everyone, can somebody help me please? I bought an Iomega ZIP100 plus drive and my Novaxis doesn't recognize it and hangs Question The Novaxis is set to SCSI ID 7 and the external ZIP100 plus drive is set to SCSI ID 6. I read something about terminators. Do I have to use this as well since my ZIP100 plus drive autodetect if termination is needed or not and it does not have a seperate switch for it. I also checked if the ZIP100 drive works on my pc, and it does Sad And if I need a terminator, do I need an active one or a passive one? In the original manual Iomega says the terminator must be set at the pass-trough-connector.
Just look at this picture to get an impression of the back of the zipdrive: www.iomega.com/support/images/iom_sup_zip_100_plus_rear.gif

And another question: I want to swap files from MSX to PC and vs. It must be in FAT12. Can Windows XP handle FAT12? I did some tests, but without luck so far. Please help....

The zip 100 plus drive is the only SCSI device by the way...

Make sure partitions are not bigger than 32624. Old versions of nfdisk lets you create partions of 32768KB, which is an invalid size for fat12 partitions

Smile Booting from zipdrive isn't neccessary, but accessing is very important. Strangly, the Novaxis detects the external ZIPdrive on ID 5 or 6, but shows "Device type unkown" when I hit <DEL>. What can that be? I tought it's something with terminators. Or I just to have to hit <GRAPH>, start DOS-2 from floppy and then use MAP32.COM?

set the Novaxis SCSI on ID 5 and the Zip on ID 5 Sorry, but that doesn't work. I also thought the ID's must be different. May not be the same. Other suggestions?

If there's no autotermination function available at the device end, you should use terminator. The same is at the card side. As I guess there're ones hard-soldered on the card.

http://msx.retro8bits.com/msxdocs/Novscsi.pdf
see section 3.3.9

And you should use different SCSI IDs for controller and target, with controller having higher value (in 0..7 single-ended range)

My external Iomega ZIP 100 plus drive has an autotermination function but it doesn't work on my Novaxis. The manual says I have to put a terminator on the pass-trough-connector, but I don't know if it must be an active one or a passive one. Can you help me?

Can you please send me this manual? And can you explain known limitations?

33c93 is narrow single ended, you will need passive terminator.
Why do you think autotermination does not work?
