At one of my visits to the fabulous Z-FEST in Germany I saw a strange kind (at least for me it was) of ATA-IDE interface for Z-80 based (home)computers. This nifty device is meant to be assembled between the main cpu and the mainboard. It's also been told to be a generic interface so it must be possible to use it on a variety of Z-80 based computers. Maybe it will also work with our beloved MSX system and that's why I start this topic... Also because when it really should work it should be also very easy to make a hdd (or cf/sd card with adapter) available internally in your MSX system without the loss of a cartridge slot
I collected some background information for the more technical MSX users among us and I ask them to take a look and make some comments if they think it's possible to use it with the MSX system.
- Background information can be found here ;
- Lots of technical information provided by the KC CLub of Germany (KC is a productline of the Robotron computerfactories in de former GDR);
- More technical information provided by the original designer Tilmann Reh.
