I am trying to run a diskimage of Astro Marine Corps on bluemsx but I cant seem to get it to work.

my msx skills are not what they are used to so I have no clue what to do

the disk has the following files
marine2.001 till 005
marine2.asc
amc.bas
amc1.mc till amc5.mc

I tried load "amc.bas" and then run but my virtual msx just reboots. Booting it with the disk just gives me the basic prompt.

Maybe there's a POKE-1,170 messing around at some line...

thanks for all the help, neither solutions were useful unfortunately.

My last resort helped though, selecting a pure MSX 1 computer to emulate seems to have solved it. After setting the vdp to 60hz everyone was as cool as i rememberd Big smile

I will try to upload a video on youtube if I can get the render option to work in bluemsx

Why set it to 60hz then?

The music seems too slow at 50 hz. I dont remember whether I played this game on my european msx 1 or japanese msx2+. It was ages ago, I dont even remember if it was a disk or tape version that I bought Big smile

O.k., 'cause I guess the music and gameplay/gfx were intended for 50hz.
But I'm not trying to tell you how you should enjoy the game. Just being curious. Wink

50hz is too slow, the game plays much better at 60. In spectrum it was a little faster then in msx, so playing in 60 it's gets more close to the original gameplay.

Really? Didn't play any other version.
But I was always very impressed with this game's scrolling, especially for the time.

And I remember in some final stage, end of part 1, I think.
It's when your mates are running away to the other direction you're going, and that some of them suddenly change into an alien which will bite your head off, but you never know until you got only 1, 2 seconds to react.
It's totally nightmare-ish, paranoid and really A*W*E*S*O*M*E.
Truly a great game IMO. It genuinely kept you scared and on your toes, meanwhile forcing you to remember enemy patterns/locations.
I think the Dinamic people were pioneers, nothing less.
