Hello, can't find on internet two application (PC or MSX) for make Game/util :
Editor Map ..... Not found for MSX
Editor char ..... Not found for MSX (wrong Polkie!, but is not get image .BMP to convert .GRP!)

But this two are necessary for MSX and not for PC (if exist please, get address internet)

Is found Tile Studio for make map but not full map (lev1 + lev2 + lev3....), ....

Please, can't find the editor char/map on MSX ? Is found, of course !

The editor map is util for make game .... ma use my assembleer / editor Wbass2, is full
compilation, but make editor map/char is high work and frustation....

The "Polkia!" is found, but missing three items ( **** : one is important!!!)
1. Get image (.bmp/. png, .pcx) to raw (char 0 - 255 on 2048 pattern!)
2. Editor screen <- this edit the screen 32x24 (256/512/768 pattern)
3. editor polkia 0 - 768 edit 768 pattern (no only 256 pattern) (****)

Polka1 won't receive any updates, but Polka2 is on its way, and it can do all you probably ever want.

P2 will have map editors.

Until then you could probably use any bitmap-based map editor for PC, and use a screenshot of your MSX tiles. I dunno names of editors as I typically make my own ones - hardwired to directories on my HD and only useful for exactly one game of course. Smile

Sorry, but exist SGE by Shamshura from site http://fms.komkon.org/MSX/
( click su "Educational games and utilities by Oleg Shamshura" )

This is editor map / sprite but not easy to use : the screen 2-8 is full but editing 8x8 or 16x16
is difficolty to draw and select icon but small operation to mirror vertical, orizzont, ecc...

This is the example for msx2 but ... use <fmeiser> for editor screen/pattern but not
save on disk :( save to tape :( and get data from tape is complicated save/load , but work this tape on real MSX to 100% !!!)

Already, can't help to find new editor application for msx1/msx2+ ?
found on msx generation "g.a.m.e. " http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/3553
but not found on internet. :(

Just use pc based graphics programs and convert your bmp/pcx/gif/jpg or whatever to data that is compatible with the msx.
It will only take a few lines of code shouldn't be a real challenge Wink

The absolute minimum needed is the conversor from BMP to VDP format in binary, then you can manually convert it to assembler/BASIC. It is almost impossible to find a tool that does exactly what you want.
Every tile of my game Zombie Near was coded and optimized manually, the maps are written directly in assembler, and I had to wrote a special program for converting and compressing the graphics screens and another for drawing the sprites.

Okey, but found BMP to MSX convert, but the map is not all screen, cute 256x192 for screen
and convert to MSX. This is difficolty, but use Tile Studio and import this image, patterns
is all present, but no map?! Sad

And olther program pc convert to v9990, found ! But no for v9958, can't cute the map
on screen per screen or image to map convert ?

Beh, ok.... but send mail to autor for polkia for extra info. Ok.
