Trying to solve it this way on all affected strings will degrade the translation. I'm in favour of marking those strings and applying some manual after-processing.

BTW, has anyone contacted the copyright owner with the request to be allowed to publish a translated version? As this forum is more catholic than the Pope on distributing copyrighted materials, and somehow I guess it will be granted without a problem.

If you translate "GULDEN" with "DOLLAR", shouldn't you then use American English?

I had indicated in my file the texts that I can not change the length. No problem for these texts.

Ah yes, I see..
Free time is sparse, but I could probably have another look at some text this evening myself.

So regarding the lines that have to fit.. Would it be possible with some more (advanced) hacking to overcome these limitations?

The texts look fine to me gdx. I have made some changes thanks to manuel.
