I think an MSX fair in Grunny won't be that well visited as one more centralized. It's still more of the middle of nowhere to most of us.

BiFi: i think you're way too negative here. A fair is a once-in-a-year event. I don't think people would mind to travel to Groningen for a big MSX event. Some people travel for a normal MSX club meeting a lot of kilometers and that EVERY month. We have started the MSX Club Groningen of course mainly for the northen region and we don't expect ppl from Limburg to come (would be great though). But remember: a club meeting is something different from a big MSX fair (once a year).

IF MSX Club Grunny decides to organize an MSX-fair I don't think it'll be well visited just for the reason I provided in my earlier post... Especially with public transport it's huge hassle to get there. Reading can be a difficult thing I'm sure, but please don't blow things way out of perspective. We've seen that happen here occasionally and that really puts thing is a way too negative perspective. As you may have read in the reactions on the newspost I think it's a great initiative to have an MSX Club in that region. But then again, it seems I'm next in line to get his words twisted against me... :\

No it is not. You can easely get to Groningen by train, bus or car.
From every direction, west A7, south A28, east A7, you drive straight into Groningen.
We also have a nice central trainstation with busses in front of it which will take you in a few minutes everywhere in town.
It can't be easier!

Indeed if you want to go by bike, it may take some time?
But even then you will get there Smile

From Purmerend it's easy on the A7 indeed... when you have a car... with the train you need to go around the ijsselmeer... about 3 hours worth of travelling...

If I would've done a fair in, say, Den Helder and you need to go by train... you wouldn't come either...

I checked the site...

You can become a member for € 15.- but what you will get for that isn't mentioned... also being able to donate is a bit over the top... and all this for... an unofficial club?

BiFi for 15 euros a year you can visit MSX CG 6 times a year. That's only 2,50 a meeting, and that money is used to pay for the location of the meeting. As for getting to Groningen from Purmerend: there's always carpooling. Besides, no location is perfect Wink. Mariënberg, Oss, Tilburg and Hoorn aren't exaclty nextdoor for me either...
