As the headline of this topic says i found this extremely weird machine from a flea market here in Finland yesterday together with a huge Holland Bingo -module.

The machine is pretty much a basic VG-8020 with a modified keyboard. It only has the number keys from 0-9, the function keys, stop, select, space bar and return. The rest of the keyboard is covered with plastic with no keycaps fitted. The plastic has text in Dutch under each button specifying it's purpose and a big "Holland Bingo" -logo plus a text that says: "Jotan A/S Lotteriservice 3191 Horten. Telf. 033-46-790".

The module that came with the machine just gives you bingo numbers and other stuff that i know absolutely nothing about. It is dated 1986-1987. It is really big 9.7cm high and 10.6cm wide. It has the same Holland Bingo sticker on both sides and a text "1-90 System" on top. It weights 110g, but has no screws so i don't know what it has inside. On the plastic reads "Micro Technology Holland".

Any info about this bizarre piece of MSX computing is welcome. Even the normal VG-8020 was never imported to Finland so this version is even rarer.

The machine goes to basic and plays modules just like the regular version.

Can't take any pictures of this thing as i don't have a camera yet. This thing will be a nice addition to my groving console/computer collection. It is always nice to have something that most people don't. Smile

It would be really nice to know that where has this machine been used before it ended up in a cardboard box on the floor of a huge flea market...

There's probably a connection with this site :

http://holland-bingo.no/

Especially this page is interesting :

Before the PC age, we can presume that a MSX was used for a Bingo program ...

Or maybe are we speaking about this machine :

That is certainly the right company, but my machine is not shown on their page. This computer is really just a normal VG-8020 with a modified keyboard. Only the module really makes it a bingo machine.

When booted the module shows this text: "MSX-I HOLLAND-BINGO 1-90 (C) 1987 REVEAL Automation BV Ver. 1.03b Juni 1987 Serial 704606 Self Test ...Ok".

The program works a lot slower on my VG-8235 MSX2.

Maybe the machine and module were made in The Netherlands for this Norvegian company? This would make sense because MSX was (is) really popular in The Netherlands, but to my knowledge not in Norway. This Micro Technology-Holland that it says on the cart might be the developer.
