What is a telnet emulator?
Maybe he means that SymbOS could act as a telnet server or so..
Telnet (terminal) emulator is just a telnet terminal to connect to telnet servers.
Also useful as a manual client to text-based network protocols like HTTP or SMTP (for testing, mostly).
Prodatron already created a telnet client for symbos. He only needs to convert it so that it is working with the network services/ deamon. See some posts back for the screenshots.
OBSONET2 card is supported by the network daemon?
@SeaBird: The structure would allow any kind of hardware and software driver, but there is currently no software TCP/IP stack implementation, which would be required for Obsonet support (AFAIK).
The TCP part of the network daemon is now fully working, and today I could also test multiple connections from multiple applications at the same time:
HispaMSX was complaining, that I tried to login two times at once from my MSX :D

(yes, my MSX can :)))
Now I need to continue with working on the configuration of the hardware and IP settings, and then I can release a preview.
@Grauw: Yes, terminal emulator or telnet client Is what you mean. Telnet is the protocol to transfer terminal information over internet and terminal emulator is the part that renders the terminal data to the user.
Both of them were working when I last time tested. The used terminal emulation is pretty much VT100 compatible.
Sorry I mixed the telnet protocol with the terminal emulator
But yes I was meaning something client able to access to a remote server and show its command prompt
Yes, it's called "SymTel" and is running in the screenshots above
The new thing is, that you are now able to start multiple network applications at the same time, which all can open connections (as long as there are free sockets left; these are limited to 4 for the DenYoNet ethernet card).
It looks so amazing! The idea to have network running in a multitasking operating system on a msx is crazy!!! It's also crazy if you look to all the work and time that was invest in SymbOS. Its so cool that all this work has been done! For sure it is one of the biggest Z80 projects ever..
it would be cool to develop multiple network applications and games for SymbOS!
