For me, still is Paint Shop Pro 7! ^_^
Adding Gimp as a very good free alternative. After some fiddling you will find out that Gimp can do the same things as paint shop pro 7. Many maps on the game are drawn in paint shop pro7 or gimp.
ro: which MCM is it? I only remember the Screen 1 Editor in a MSX Gids issue 8 by Martin van der Graaff.
Do you mean that one? And you Lord_Zett?
THAT one, Martin vd Graaff indeed good memory, Manuel !
Did some searching, and @ your tube there's this game:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nq2fEBrA1Q
It's break-it from MvdG which was made with SC1editor. I remember that one being listed next to sc1editor as an example :)
aah, the memories. thanx for sharing Manuel!
You're welcome. But I made a mistake: this program is in MSX-Gids 15. See http://www.generation-msx.nl/publication/uitgeverij-herps/ms...
use crtl down by powerup
So any tested screen 1 editor?
If you want to use screen 1 editor, check out the article in MSX Gids 15 (see link above), it also has a short manual, explaining the meaning of the icons.
There is a file inc in the dsk image a txt manual part
Multipaint is excellent: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=66976 (the interface is very close to DeluxePaint, Amiga version)
i also use GrafX2 a lot, and i made some scripts for that, if i’m not wrong, some of them targets msx screen modes (specially screen2 for msx1 and msx2): http://nitrofurano.altervista.org/lua

I don't see the actual Gids there, only the cover (or am I missing something)?
Anyway, I scanned that one a while ago, so:
