Too sad I don't have enough free time anymore, because I really would like to port it to the MSX2/2+.

@Jonathan , Have you already taught in exporting C code as an option? This way would be much more simple to implement it in new platforms. Of course for action games, C code compiled in the final platform may not have the necessary speed. But in this case, only the critical parts would be made in Assembly. And for statical puzzle games, no problem.

I'm converting the PuzzleScript to run in C in any platform (8 to 64 bits), any Operating System (or no Operating System). And only some routines need to be created for specific platforms (read a key, show a block on screen), and even them can be coded in C if speed is not a problem.

"C is a portable Assembly."

If you have any interest in this, I can give you some help in my free time.

A little bump to this thread...

Maybe it's too soon to announce it; but I've a pretty advanced MSX AGD port on the run.

I've uploaded an album with some pics here:

There're still a lot of things to polish or simply add, I also need some help from the AGD crew to know if I've taken the right design decisions; but right now, the main features of the engine are implemented.

Of course a MSX2 version could be added soon, there're already some working features like the classic color palette redefinition.

Thanks!. As artrag says, there're a lot of good (and impressive when you know the engine limitations) games and after joining efforts porting the engine to other machines I was indeed really interested in experimenting with the standard. It's a totally different beast, obviously very different to the other machines, graphically speaking of course Smile

JLTursan, I've sent you a private message with my email address over at the AGD forums.

I'll get the Windows editors working for the MSX. I'm assuming you've gone with monochrome sprites and 8 colour attribute bytes for each block (one for each line) - is that correct?

Is the ring in the screenshots an object? It looks like that has 32 attributes, is that right?

I'll get MPAGD to create MSX source files with the graphics formats you need. I'll also need to know what format you want the palette in so I can output that in the form your MSX compiler requires.
