A very nice piece of music.
PSG is often under-exploited; this is not the case here. Smile

Very very nice indeed.
FYI: There are still people developing games for MSX and some of them ask for musicians as they can't do their own music, so... Smile *hint*...TFH wouldn't mind hearing more of this quality PSG music!

Thanks for all your kind comments. I appreciate them all.

I am aware that my song is not a "typical" MSX song. At least it's not a part of the Konami family but rather perhaps a descendant to some of Ben Daglish and Rob Hubbard's eary works for MSX. The baseline definitely has "Daglish" written all over it but the arrangement turned out to be more "Hubbard". I think the marriage between the styles worked pretty well.

So... it was a fun challenge and I'm happy with the result. I will definately create more music soon again. Probably some other tunes for pure PSG before I jump to SCC or something else.

I'm thinking about expanding on this first tune though. I think the sounds and arrangement turned out pretty useful so perhaps creating 3-4 more songs using that as a base... but perhaps only using 2 channels for those tunes meaning that (if someone is interested) my first song could be used as the title music for a game and my other songs could be stage music where it's possible to also have sound effects?

Anyone interested? I'm game Smile

I'm looking for a 3-channels PSG music for the title page of my WIP game : Final Smash. A tennis game for MSX1 (https://msx.org/forum/msx-talk/development/final-smash).
I'm using a "place-holder" .PT3 music (made with Vortex Tracker II) I have to change to something I have the right to use.
If you're interested, I'd be happy to put one of your music in the game.

Do you think my current song would fit your game, style wise or should I perhaps try to make a song that is more “sports like”?

When you do switch to SCC you could give realfun 3 a try Wink ... although it is not very user friendly and I think I am still the only one who has some idea of how it works Big smile

Something more “sport like” would be perfect... if it is something you would enjoy to create.
However, I don't know if it is possible to convert music made with Arkos Tracker 2 to .PT3 format.
For the moment, I only have a .PT3 replayer in my game.
Arkos Tracker 2 is a great tool, but creating a replayer in C language is not trivial from what I had seen.

PT3?
That's Vortex Tracker then?

can't you use one of arkos existing players as inline asm?

you can write 3 channel music. arkos players are able to "overwrite" music in the channel where an sfx is played and then continue music normally. For best results you can use a channel less than other two so the sfx can be played in that channel resulting in less annoyance on melody
