That looks like a nice little design for me to try out in due course. I have a notion to try the kit as its reasonable. I wouldn't pay the $30 there asking for the assembled item though

According your TV manual, there is not composite video input.

I think TMS-RGB is not really useful if the scarts support the composite because the picture will be good enough with a good cable and the adapter or a cable like below.

Before getting into all sorts of exotical cables and/or mods, I think you should consider buying an MSX with scart RGB output (e.g. a Sony HB75, or a Philips MSX2) and a Sony Trinitron tv with RGB scart input; together that does not need to cost over 60 euros, and you will have an absolute stunning picture (that can be stretched out over the entire screen when using the Sony Trinitron service menu).

Why since the cable only costs a few euros? It's not risking much to try. Composite is much better than RF. RGB is of better quality than both but for an MSX1, it is not really necessary.

It's been years since I've seen an MSX2 go for 60 euros, let alone to get a trinitron for that money included as well. There's currently a simple NMS8250 on marktplaats (dutch) which currently is over 200 euro's. Is that worth it? I don't know, but that's what they tend to go for here.

Last week I bought a Sony HB75 on Marktplaats for 60 euros that looks brand new and I regularly pick up Trinitron tv’s for free or for 10 euro max. MSX2 machines are more expensive, but it should be fairly easy to get a 8220 or 8235 for around 125 euro.
Unfortunately the times that you could pickup a 8280 at a flea market for 10 euro are over…

Id like to find something like that for 60 euro here in the uk ! :/ My budet wont allow exotic prices. msx2 is what? £250-£300. Yea but Naa.

I had a look on Marketplaas and it's a struggle. Especially with the weak pound.
I'm lucky in that I have a generous friend and have an 8235.

However, back to the problem at hand.
I've ordered a TMS-RGB with 9 pin DIN for my HX-10 so I will see what can be done. AFAIK there are no instructions specifically for the HX-10. The interesting part is that the 9 pin mini din is usually used for the Megadrive 2 and you can get a RAD2X HDMI connector for that so not only could it be clearer but HDMI compatible for the future.

It sounds good even though i don't fully understand everything your talking about. I will wait and see for the time being. Ive some composite/component ? cables coming that terminate in SCART so with a bit of luck my picture bleed issues at least will be resolved.

Hey Guys, Ive a bit more info for you all. Ive bought a cable on E-Bay what has 2 composite RCA connectors, One Yellow and One White for the video Out and Audio Out sockets on the Toshiba HX-10. the two cables terminate in a SCART connector which i have tried in BOTH SCART socket on the TV and tried to tune the TV both times but i do not get a picture. I think there's a point where it finds the 'channel' but its just a black screen.

ALSO if i try to turn the Toshiba HX-10 on without the RF cable connected and the TV turned on it simply will not start. It seems the RF cable connects the HX10 to the TV in some manner that puts an electrical load or signal to the HX-10 which will allow it to start. Otherwise it refuses to switch on. There's definitely something funny going on with this MSX. Shes a bit sick. Any further ideas/suggestions ?
