Well, that's the way I find correct for new software for old/hobbyst platforms: Give the .ROM for free, but try to sell a collector's edition in cartridge with box/manual and etc... Well, where all here collecting stuff right?
That's what I did with Knight Lore. I tested the free digital version and bought the cart from Pazos. Everyone happy and no one trying to make money out of a plain .ROM file.

Your development programs run on windows/Linux/osx?

GIVE THEM TO ME NOW!!!! Smile

@RyJuZo: I think you constantly have to defend yourself because people haven't seen anything yet! Isn't possible to make a small (promotional) movie of your new game and put it on Youtube??

Then everyone can see what (great) game you are working on!?!?!?!

Just learned there will be a fair in a couple of months....If I have time I will attend and show it off...

nothing better than a live show..right Wink

You´d better inform your NDA police as soon as possible, Ryjuzo, every MSX victim is too much!

ok I'll have to REPEAT myself even though I hate it but this is what I said:

6) All selected canidates will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement if a game will be released commercially.

So NDA does not apply to KNIII as it will not be released commercially !!!!

So you can take as many pictures as you want....but ofcourse I will not show the entire game just enough....otherwise my competitors will know how hard they will have to work in order to BEAT me .....hahahaha Tongue

All I'm saying is that every developer has had the coolest ideas, only to realize later they didn't have the time, skill or MHz'es to realize it... What people are trying to tell you here is; stop hyping and start coding. Once you have a nice proof of concept, be kind enough to share it with the rest of the scene, which is usually the point where you can expect some nice feedback/input/help. Just don't expect people to get excited at the mere fact that you're saying you're working on the best game ever. We've all been there, and we all know that these types of projects are very difficult to finish. I've had games which are like 90% done stall completely, which is why most of us try to keep things hush hush until the game is actually ready to be released. Before you draw up contracts for beta testers, try showing them you actually have something for them to test... Having said that, I should prolly STFU and continue working on Randar III; another fine example of how opening my big fat mouth got me into trouble... Tongue
