If it is in any way possible we'll change the game from using Kanji ROM to display regular letters. Otherwise MSXes without Kanji ROM won't be able to see the English texts...
That would be perfect, of course
(although I managed to do it using an HEX editor... I'll have to remember how).
If you finally remember how to do it, I can make a PC tool to automate the task...

The idea is easy:
1. make a copy of the original game disk
2. edit the gfx of a stage and fill the whole graphic set with one colour, then look at the differences between both dsk's to locate where the differences start and end.
3. make a new set with graphsaurus or whatever (with the same dimensions of the graphic set of the game disk) and save the set (not the full screen, only the 128x128 square).
4. replace the marked data area into the dsk with the data from the saved set.

So the GFX aren't in different files?. All that file editing could end easily with unusable app disks...
Apart from the in progress translation, is there any article/manual/guide out there (doesn't matters if it's in japanese) about this tool?

No. As I already said you can't see any file at the disks.

That's why I told you to make a back-up of the disk image

I don't know... I only have the schema I made with Takamichi's translation.
Here you can find the first draft of the menu translations... Mind you it is just a .doc file.

Perhaps it will be of use to some of you.
A patch is in development.
Nice work, I'll give it a first look...thanks!
Gamedisk=game disk
Triggerbutton=trigger button
userdisk=userdisk
colour=color (the msx uses color)
[00:45] FiXato: Vampier: one of your corrections makes no sense
[00:45] FiXato: userdisk=userdisk? I'm sure you meant userdisk = user disk

Sometimes the documents says 'pallet' instead of 'palette' by the way.
Colour/color would depend on whether you want British English (colour) or American (color) (and stick to the MSX command).
Personally I would change 'trigger button 1' to 'primary trigger'.
Nice document though
Looks helpful!
