Change The rom on A Konami Cardtigle

I recently download the translate Spanish versions of some konami games as the king kong, solid snake or gambare goemon and I´m thinking if it´s posible to save this dsk versions into the original konami chip,erasing the game at japanes and writing the chip with the spanish version so it will be the same as original by the outside and in spanish to play. Or by other hand desolder the original konami rom chip and solder a saved eprom with the game in spanish. How could be done?

Why not just flash the image of the translation to your MSX using Nowind or FlashROM etc.?!? :-?

I Know that I could do that with my padial sd reader and with the mega rom scc cardtigle but I want to do it this way

You can't rewrite the original Konami cartridge. Also, you can't use the DSK but a ROM file.
You will need to desolder the original ROM IC, write the translated ROM into an EPROM/FLASHROM and solder it in the cartridge.

Ok so I need a EPROM/FLASHROM rewrite with the translate ROM (No DSK) and solder back to the original cartridge. Now the question is what kind of EPROM is? (meaning a reference compatible with the original on the konami cartidge) and what equipment is recomend to write the translate ROM into this new EPROM/FLASROM

Why not build a MegaFlashRom SCC out of your original konami cardrige ?

so.. you want to open up an original Solid Snake card, pull the rom out and replace it with an eprom?

What I'm trying to do is exactly that replace the original ROM from konami with an EPROM programed with a translate ROM GAME, I'm investigating that option since I have a complete copy (box and manuals) and some looses of some konami games and I would like to play them in my language, call me picky or wear but it's my call. There has been some people that have screw the cardtigles just because of the plastic to put them into megaflash and no one has come after them with sticks.

So acording to my investigation I need a 28 pin EPROM and program it with my own TRANSLATED ROM and solder it into the original konami cardtigle.

questions are:

A 27C512 eprom would do the work?
To program that Eprom the WILLEM EPROM PROGRAMER would work?
To save the translate ROM do I need to do any special adjustment at the programer?

once again thank you by advance, and don´t be so picky I am not profanating a corp just try to do an experiment.

of course, but to many MSX fans, modding a Solid Snake cart is similar to pimping a limited edition Ferrari.

In the case of Solid Snake, I think it would also lower the value with about ~80%, should you choose to sell it later.

I'd go for the method larsthe18th posted (or have it done by someone else), but I'd pick a relatively common cartridge to use for it. Since you can reflash it, you'd only have to mod one cart too.
(and if you want the cart to look like the real deal, isn't it safer to try and duplicate the label?)

with "my investigation" you mean that you have confirmed that all the locations of the pins of the original ROM match that of an eprom?
you can do this by using a continuity-tester and perform simple tests between goldplates of cartridge and the pins of the ROM.

A 27C512 eprom would do the work?

no, the 27C512 is 64k so you'll need a mapper circuit if you want you use all of it.
you'll need a 27(C)256 for 32k or 27(C)128 for 16k

also power switching of eproms is different from normal rom
so if not present already then add an extra decoupling capacitor of 0.1uF between the VCC pin and GND.

yes.
But you'll probably need an eprom-eraser as well.

no. just burn as is.
