Well, I honestly think that 9958 with addram hack beats the crap out of GFX 9000
not really you wouldn't be able to do stuff like shown in Team Bomba Under Water demo, CPU isn't fast enough to do all these copies.

Well, same is true between GFX9000 and any 2$ SVGA on PC. Speed is nothing, software is everything!
Long life 99x8!!!
Does fMSX for PSP access the kernel memory?
Not sure what you mean, and I must admit I haven't tried fMSX for PSP yet. But the kernel memory is 50% fixed, and 50% can be temporarily freed for applications. And I don't know if fMSX does so, it wouldn't really need it I think, the 24 MB of RAM should be enough
That is, if I understand the question correctly
I have a v2.00 firmware PSP and homebrew programs can only be played on v2.00 if the apps don't access the kernel memory, so I've read Don't know what that means, though
Well like I said, the PSP has a reserverd Kernel memory of 8 MB (out of the 32 MB the PSP has). Normally applications therefore have 24 MB of RAM available to them, but it is possible to temporarily free half of the Kernel ram for your own use. We use that 4 MB for the audio streaming for example. I guess the new firmware prohibits use of the kernel RAM for homebrew stuff...no clue how they should know it's not an official application though...
Thx for clearing things up, Ruud And indeed, I wonder as well how the psp knows one thing is homebrew and the other is an official application.

Probably some kind of digitally signed executables, I guess.
it's right the emulator msx for the psp work only in firmware 1.5 or 1.0 of the psp. U can downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 (google it).
playing with the psp at the msx games is really amazing.
