That's it: it's rumored that a Boulder Dash ROM does exist that allows the game to be played in MSX2 and up.
Every dump I tried is MSX2-incompatible.
Is souch a thig true? Just to know...
I had two Boulder Dash games in a set of 30 cassette games ("30 MSX hits"). They both failed on MSX2 as they set the refresh frequency from 50 to 60 Hertz which made it incompatible on European tv sets. Is that the incompatibility you're talking about? The game itself ran correctly though.
@Hrothgar: no, I'm not talking about that: 1ChipMSx is 60HZ (VGA). No PAL or NTSC problems.
@MäSäXï: I don't mind if it's the first version or a re-release, as long as it's a cartd dump and it works on MSX2 and up. No CAS , please, as those are imposible to load in 1ChipMSX (LOADCAS doesn't load a single game well).
Vanfanel, I have thought of that japanese Championship Boulder Dash does have different levels than original Boulder Dash. But I am not sure. I also remembered that there were two different japanese Boulder Dash cartridges (both had some extra word in their name, like that "Championship", but I can find just Championship Boulder Dash from generation-msx.
Thanks to Ari and Jipe, I have, AT LAST, Boulder Dash 1 working on my 1ChipMSX
I'm very happy: I had very fond memories of this game. Thanks for your time and explanations, guys. You really helped me to get all the games I want to see running on my 1ChipMSX
