Hi!

Recently I tried to subscribe to the dutch MSX mailing list, but I have discovered that it is no more hosted in stack.nl or what-so-ever. So, is there any dutch MSX mailing-list? As far as I know, the language chosen is english (I can read it, at least) and it is much better than the main spanish list, HispaMSX, if you are looking for technical help and programming tips. In Spain there are lots of active MSX users, but not very much skilled asm programmers are still in the scene.
By the way, how many non-japanese mailing-lists are there?

SPAIN: HispaMSX, hosted in yahoogroups.com. Language: spanish, english allowed for foreign people that do not speak spanish.

And one last question: is there any web-based IRC client that will allow me to connect easily to #MSXdev channel? I cannot install MIRC here (public computer). It sounds so interesting, and I really would like to talk to that living-legends of the MSX scene.
Life is not fair: best coders are in the Netherlands, and in Spain there are so many graphic-artists and music composers, but not that many programmers.
Finally, does anybody know about any MSX1 game project? I think that most brazilian MSXers are still using their MSX1 machines, but in Europe everybody seems to have forgotten their roots (except Bandwagon, and they quitted).

Thanks for your help one again!

I quote from the bottom of a message I received off the mailinglist just 10 minutes ago:

That's an interesting statement you make here. Is this your general impression or did you make a study into this? Smile

Pitpan: there is a web2irc client running on www.tni.nl. Problem is, you're not capable of sending messages using that client. You can only read what the others say.

About the unfairness of life: we're working on a developers-platform that enables MSX users all over the world to cooperate on projects. Hmm that does sound sourceforge alike, doesn't it? :) Anyway.. euhm.... we have other priorities at the moment and only little time...

Hmmmmm, the web2irc client on msx2.com only brings you to Undernet or something?

It does. Before we discovered some Undernet servers don't have a clone check or something there was a choice to connect to my server as well, that option was later changed.

I should take the time to figure out what's wrong with the web IRC script... It's on msxbanzai.tni.nl btw.
Unfortunately I have very little time now, because we just bought a new house and it's being remodelled 'n stuff...
Ofcourse if you have some webspace with CGI capabilities, you can set up your own CGI:IRC script.

Hmm... I think that there's indeed quite a bit of coders here in Holland, and more good gfx people in Spain than here Smile But... why should that stop anyone? C'mon, with the internet around nearly everywhere, it's not so hard to start an international software group! Team Bomba has a Spanish member too, no problems there. And if you want meetings, just use mail or irc Smile

Yes! The dutch MSX mailing-list is what I really wanted: it is much more technical than the spanish one. What about brazilian mailing-lists? Any idea? I suppose that they use portuguese as the main language, but I think that I will be able to understand them quite well.
That project of an Internet platform for international MSX software development sound amazing! I look forward to participate into it. Anyway, at the moment I am a "solo" programmer/coder/artist/composer(?), so I can only manage to produce tiny projects.

Kind regards,

Ed Robsy

Well, uh, the 'Dutch' mailinglist you are referring to is really an international one. It's only hosted on a Dutch server.

We speak Dutch in the Netherlands after all, not English ;p.

Anyways, glad to have you there. The MSX Mailinglist - for a quick answer to your haunting questions. ^_^
