Yup, it's the "coolcolors" palette, modified a little bit to make certain stages to look better

if there's enough space for it, I wouldn't mind seeing a patched 32KB rom image of Knightmare to give it MSX2 specific support.

cd quality music is CD-audio tracks, played directly from CD (just like Knightmare CD released some time ago by Adriano) and its possible to use SCC or just PSG if you dont want to hear re-arranged cd-tracks

This "remake" for MSX2 is the original game patched; the "Midas loader" (hence the name Knightmare Gold) patches the ROM on the fly, making it possible to have the original (unaltered) game and the "improved" version as you wish.

The game has smooth vertical scroll, no more sprite flickering, MSX2 colored sprites (no more all blue viking!), new title screen, a great Konami logo, more info on the "score" (like player speed),... so many things is hard to remember it all )

and yes, it is Knightmare for MSX2 )

In my opinion KNIGHTMARE is such a superb game that cannot be improved. You can make a modified version but I cannot see the changes as an improvement. I would eventually accept the horizontal scroll as an improvement, but it seems that the final version won't implement it.

So, I'll stick to KNIGHTMARE -or, if you're lucky enough- KNIGHTMARE with SCC+ sound. Amazing game!

Please note that the "improved" version will be basically the same game, but will need an MSX2, 7 MHz, CD-ROM, etc. I'm sure it will be great, but if it's not an MSX1 game anymore, I'm not interested.
