@vanfanel
Did I said Euros? I remember I said Dollars. Euro is 1.3 times more than Dollars. That means IQ is around 380 Euro. There will be no more Zemmix Neo or Zemmix Neo Lite because we already promised we will not make it any more.
@mygodess : You know how i'm interested in provide this kind of MSX machine.
I know the case is very expensive, and the keyboard too.
But I think we can work together to provide your IQ3000 MSX computer to better lower price.
I know I can produce you computer case here, in plastic, for less than 90€ per case, if we made 50 pieces.
Price down if we produce more.
We can collaborate, you make the board, I make the case and I assemble it.
I'm quite sure the final price will be under 300 euros
You know you can contact me, if interested.
May be Korean MSX fan would also benefit of this plastic case ?
@ericb59
I designed the case with Steel/Aluminium because it is much stronger and much heavier.
MiniIQ is very small hardware cause it need to be heavy to use.
There are lots of screw holes with M3 (3mm). It is very weak when you make it with plastic.
I did said about the case problem in mail but I think you don't believe me. If you can make cheaper price with same quality then you could produce it. I sent you everything that I can give you. (Schmatic, PCB design, and Case design)
One more. Mine is around $380 Euros. It is little bit expensive than your version but much stronger than plastic. You cannot use M3 thread on 1.2T ABS plastic. That case need to be much bigger than I make. (Still.. it is very weak.) For my thinking, plastic case is not usable for this project.
These are the picture for MiniIQ 3000. You could understand how small it is.
You are right, there must be some adjustment in the case design.
The global weight is not a problem, if it become a problem, it can be solve by an heavy piece of iron in the back of the case.
Plastic case will not be fragile, we can choose to use 3mm or 5mm thickness plastic.
I send your 3D file to a manufacturer, he said, there is no problem to build this case in plastic.
About the files you send me, I thank you very much because those files are a good beginning, but also i'm very disappointed, because I cannot make modifications. The 3D file you send me is not a native Solid Works file. it's an exportation, so relations between parts are missing. Making a modification, on one part need to modify all design...
Also, I cannot modify the PCB, because you send me gerber file, How am i suppose to modify Gerber file ?
Again.. I think we can do something together...
@ericb59
I sent you x_t file and you can separate most of the parts one by one. (Choose move freely on option)
And I sent you schematic file to make PCB. You said you need to change some of the design in PCB cause ourline and other design need to be changed a lot. Cause my PCB design is almost useless to your design. That's why I sent you gerber file and sch file.
I sent you the dxf files also. I sent same dxf file to factory to make it and they did not have any problem to make. I cannot teach you because I am not a teacher I said. I'm just an software engineer and I studied PCB and case design by myself. That is not that hard to study by yourself cause I sent you the seed files.
When I make all of this hardware, I just have only 'pdf version schematic' and no other files for case. OK, if you like to have all the file that I make, I will give you. I tried to help you to study by yourself but you just want everything. You did said you want to study and try to make it by yourself but you just want 'result' only.
@mygodess To build a case with 3mm / 5mm plastic thickness i have to made a lot of midifications to the design, and also adapt the pcb. i don't want to remake all, it's just more simple to adapt,than to rebuild all design from scratch. it's not i'm lazy to learn, i'm learning while adapting..'
Anyway, you made a great job with this Iq3000, and i thank you for the informations and file you sent me.
@mygodess : if i can do a plastic case, that is good enough, do you want to produce Pcb ?
Nice pics again mygodess! Too bad no-one was really interested in putting down the money for it, but thanks for offering to produce it nevertheless.
I didn’t know it had a metal case, I thought it was plastic! That must be pretty neat, have a high quality feel to it just like the Zemmix Neo. I wish I could get one and boast with it, but I can’t buy everything unfortunately .
a great job, congrats!!
