ok I misunderstood, only the colorregister graphics is 100% cyclecounted.
my favourite is the trailblazer, hires 16 colors, it is a record Smile

Pretty cool... I wanted to ask this back in March already, but forgot about it..; would a version be possible that just keeps running a (little) bit longer (somehow) (or perhaps just keeps running/going.. Wink), so I/we can enjoy the soundtrack some more? (love it! Wink) (Or would it be possible to obtain the (original) soundtrack somehow?) (What is used to make it btw? Vortex Tracker?)

I have three MSX1 machines, and only one of them, Spectravideo SVI 728, was able to run the demo. The two others, Canon V-20 and Toshiba HX-10 seemed to have 229 cycles per scanline.
I would like to see results from other people with the same machine models. So far it seems that not all Canon V-20s are made equal. But since I think by far not all people care about real MSX1 machines here, and running the COMs would require too much work... Wink maybe it would be best to convert the test program into a BASIC program with a machine code user function. But then again, it would be even more work, having to connect an actual MSX1 machine and type in a BASIC program. Wink LOL It works in the emulator, so everything is OK. Or better, it works on YouTube, so everything is OK. Right? Wink (I hope not)

I realised many tests for Overflow with real MSX hardware before the "official release". The files IO.COM worked perfectly on many configurations.

I tested the demo on :
Canon V20 (European with AZERTY keyboard)
Philips VG8020/19 and VG8020/20
Philips VG8235
Philips NMS8245
Philips NMS8250 and NMS8255
Sanyo WAVY 35
Panasonic A1WX
Panasonic A1WSX
Panasonic A1ST

The mass storage I used was :
Beer IDE with DOS1 (for MSX1)
SD Padial with DOS2
Technobytes ATA IDE with Nextor
Sunrise CF IDE with DOS2

I just tested IO.COM with Canon V20 + Nowind, it works fine on my hardware Wink

How many V20s did you test? I believe you if you have 100 different units and 100 out of 100 work. Smile It seems that the number of cycles on scanline or frame varies quite a bit between machines, which is almost certainly caused by the CPU and VDP being driven by separate clock crystals. It's an analog phenomenon.

Anyway, Overflow made several iterations of adjustments until it works almost completely on all three of my machines. It's up to him to decide if he wants to release the refined versions.

I encourage more MSX hobbyists to try and run the demo on their actual MSX1 machines. Or is everyone just emulator and YouTube lamers... Wink

I just said "it works fine on my hardware", not said "it works fine on every V20s all over the world" Wink
Find 100 V20s is a big challenge, I'm starting my quest LOL!
