Please confirm is correctly dumped.
It seems correctly dumped. This is the same ROM as phc-28s_basic-bios1.rom.
Better refer to the sha1sums as filenames can be anything, really.
The dump is b1cce60ef61c058f5e42ef7ac635018d1a431168 which is the same as what is in the Sanyo PHC-28S openMSX config.
thanks
This Saturday my Sony HB-701FD will return from repair and I will dump it hopefully next week. I don’t recall getting a menu when I tested the machine upon arrival from Japan. The wiki mentions the HitBit Art is useless in the machine but it is unclear why. Who knows anything about this?
It is explained in the Wiki: the version on the floppy disk has more options.
I guess Sony engineers have disabled the firmware rom when the internal drive is detected. It happens also on a HB-701 after addition of the internal drive.
So you need the floppy disk when you have a HB-701FD or a HB-701 enhanced with internal drive. It's the only way to get the HitBit Art menu (or you must remove the diskdrive, what's probably not so easy!)
It means you can probably dump the firmware rom, and then both machines can be emulated:
- HB-701 = bios/basic ROM + firmware ROM
- HB-701FD = bios/basic ROM + disk ROM + useless firmware ROM (a dump of the floppy disk is required!)
I think there's another thread about this strange implementation: https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/hardware/please-help-sony...
Hi!
I've dumped the BIOS and the firmware of a Sony HB-11 using Tiny Slot Checker.
Great! I hope you tou upload dumped your rom of Sony HB-11.
I also dumped the machine today, such a coincidence. I did dump the kanji font ROM as well. I sent the dumps to Manuel including a preliminary config (that does work but misses the initial RAM content).

National FS-4000, Sony HB-11 have something in common with each other.
The first is that if you look at the MSX1 BIOS, it has been patched, considering Kanji and expansion slot access.
Second, in the case of Kanji ROM, MSX FS-4000 is identical to MSX2 FS-4500/4700F/5500, while MSX HB-11 is identical to MSX2 HB-F500, HB-T7, HB-T600, HB-F900. that they are identical to each other.

Oh, sorry for the late reply (I missed your post).
Yes (first link within the article); the dumps are on file-hunter as well. Note: I did not dump the Kanji ROM.

(...)
Could you please tell me at what addresses are those patches? (just out of curiosity; I want to look at them too ^_^)
If "expansion slot access" is the patch referred to as "SLOTFIX" in the source code of the MSX System version 1.0, I haven't found it.
What I found is that Sony HB-11 has a reduced wait loop at splash screen (3 loops instead of 6) :)
Hello, I have dumped the Bios of my Dynadata DPC-200 with a keyboard incorporating the "Ñ" key. I have also added some photos of the board in high resolution.
