We've made a FPGA board based on Till Harbaum's MiST design.
Here is a video running a MSX2+ core:

This core is a direct port from the OCM core.

Cheers!

With those insane prices of original msx hardware nowadays, you should almost consider to buy such a device.

they don't have a cartridge slot so you might as well use an emulator...

Hi 8bits4ever

I talked about this one with a few ppl on chat a few days back, your project looks interesting.
You are listing the EP3C5E144C8N as the used FPGA, but that one only has 5000 LE. Is that correct? The 1ChipMSX/ESE3 has 12000 LE.

No, the board has a EP3C25E144C8N (25K). It can run a full Amiga AGA implementation as well.

We corrected the specifications at our site

Nice one, running SofaRun!
It seems to run SpaceManbow very smooth. If it wasn´t the lack of the slots...
I was thinking to buy a Chameleon with almost similar specs but there was this question, that deserves a own chapter:
What makes a MSX for you?
Is it a build in keyboard, the amazing slot architecture, the easy to use, simple to learn build in BASIC?
Tricks and mysteries discovered after more than thirty years of release?
For me it´s simple to answer: Four keys, that makes the difference: Up, left, down and right.
And I think a lot of users are willing to buy a FPGA based MSX, but it isn´t as simple than rebuilding a C64 or a speccy. There were build so much different machines and everybody started with another one, keeping his own past buried with it.
Hard to do without big cursor keys.

The middle LED is connected to the FPGA and its use is core specific. For example the Atari ST core uses it as a floppy LED
