I'm looking for the 3 Aleste games for the system but only found part 1 for 900$ which rediculous to me.
Which leads me to the question if getting all 3 Alestes is realistic, they are nowhere..

i just followed japanese MSX auctions for several months, and i saw one short period where multiple Aleste games were being sold. i'd say several hundred USD per game if they are complete, tho Gaiden might be cheaper? however, i haven't seen any come up for a while now. IIRC i also saw more Aleste 2 than Aleste for sale.
yikes! the Ebay prices are intense.

for all i know, that might be a good deal at this point, as it has the paper airplane and other materials included...
it's rough being a fan of early COMPILE, i know!
you could probably get this for about $200 shipped if you want Aleste and don't care about the full package.

oO
IIRC there was one seller on Yahoo auctions with the handle "satopin" who seemed to have everything in top condition at fairly brutal (but still attainable) prices. they had the entire Disc Station series on auction for $1400, which was probably the best deal anyone could hope for if you do the math. i was sweating bullets trying to justify it, but i could not pull the trigger :[
i don't see that seller in auction results any longer, almost like they stopped selling or moved everything at once to another collector.
Don’t expect to find the Aleste games for cheap. Prices are and have for a long time been really high. Same for e.g. Mr. Ghost.
That's a bummer. Could you help me out by naming some reasonable prices?
I haven’t been scouring eBay for a while so I don’t recall the exact prices, but iirc the prices easily went €500+ for boxed versions. If you find one for €300 it’ll be a steal.
I got both Aleste and Aleste 2 from zenmarket for about €300 each. They are not hard to find on there. Nothing on there right now, but if you keep looking they should show up after a few weeks.
I recommend searching with jauce, because their search is better, and then buying wirh zenmarket because they are cheaper.
Like I wrote earlier, that $400 Aleste on Ebay might actually be an OK deal :[
It has all the materials, only damage looks like a split case hinge.
Ok, thanks so far. What about Gaiden? Any legit price range known for it?
As with most expensive titles, if you keep watching eBay auctions, you might get lucky and be able to snag a copy for a good price. I've seen Aleste 1 with box and cartridge only (no manual) in decent shape sell for only around $100 American before -- same with Space Manbow, which I lost a cartridge-only auction on at one point by a mere $3 when it sold for $106.
Patience can sometimes pay off with things like this -- unless you want it complete-in-box, in which case, you pretty much have no choice but to pay out the nose.
