Hello,

I found the two following graphic bugs in Bobble Bubble.

1/ Two lines at right side of screen are not redrawn when a new level is displayed.

2/ Second bug found seems occur mainly in R800 mode. Some sprites are badly displayed when donuts of the bonus are displayed on the entire screen.

I made a patch to fix the first bug and speed up the game but the second bug still a mystery. Any idea?

A specific patch for the MA-20 and clones is also included.

Ah, cool, I've always been annoyed by that GFX bug on the right side, thanks GDX!

Not sure about the 2nd bug that you mention. Is that when you get an extra life?

I wouldn't mind another keymapping for blowing bubbles either btw... The ? is weird choice...

This is probably the game I played most, many, many hours are spend on it Smile

Wing and tail are not correct in the left position: plus on the left position the foot in front moves while in the right position is motionless, when it travels is symmetrical and error-free in right and left position.
Also the death asterisk color of 1UP is not correct: it should be all white like the 2UP.

Ps. Bobble Bubble? or Bubble Bobble? eheh ;)

This bug is present in original Rom is not it? It's just the sprite that is drawn differently when it goes left. It's just the sprite that needs to be redrawn. Right? Do you know where the data are?

This bug happens when you take the vial containing holy water. It's not always donuts.

This is a minor bug that seems to occur more often on my optimized version. You can see the scene (without the bug) in the video below at 30:58 & 40:40.

Bubble Bobble partial fix // 1991.12.19 by KdL

$423D --> from " 04 02 " --> to  " 06 00 "   (1UP tail in left)

The fix is complete if we replace F0 E0 04 by 78 38 06 at 00423Bh.

Changes from v.0.9:
- Fixed sprite dragon that goes left (Thanks to KdL)
- Added Turbo mode for Turbo R and Panasonic's MSX2+
- Maybe a bit faster
- Added a TXT about items and food
