Can you just boot with F4 pressed and get back in the menu?

By the way. It's Bootmenu 2.52 and firmware 2.50 on the cartridge.

It could be some setting in the configuration Eeprom that skips the Boot Menu. Dump the configuration Eeprom into a file with the C2CFGBCK utility and share the file or its binary dump's screenshot.

So I re-initialised the cartridge according to the user manual.
I flashed sofarom1 in flashrom and have two entries in the directory: Defconfig and Sofarom
Same error, bootmenu is being skipped.

When starting C2CFGBCK I run into trouble:

error

Well, there's no Boot Menu in the cartridge if you see this message. Try to flash the Boot Menu separately with C2MAN. Make sure that the Boot Menu file is intact. Big smile

I downloaded the file from the github just now.
After the cartridge was initialized I made a backup of the eprom.
cfg
Does this look okay.
It seems that I loose the bootmenu when I flash a rom in the flashrom.
Maybe I should replace it, don't know, the rest seems to work.
Does 'slave device not find' mean anything when the IDE is initialized?

I've seen that happen when the boot menu is not stored correctly on the flash. Sometimes you use C2MAN and the tool gives an error that is very subtle. Go ahead and run C2MAN again to store the boot menu and paste the messages here so we can check.

Changed out the Flashrom (M29W640GB). But the end result is the same.
I re-initialized the cartridge and took some screenshots.
Fresh install

The last photo shows the 2 directory entries in C2MAN.
When I now restart the computer the bootmenu is being skipped en it automatically goes to the CF-card.
When I start up C2MAN I get the warning that the cartridge isn't initialised and I can start all over. ;(

At which point after changing the chip you initialized the directory? Did you fully erase the newly-installed chip?
