This has nothing to do with a popularity contest between MRC and MSXPosse. Sorry, but even the suggestion is laughable.
As for the copyrights.. MSX MBox has 1300 games, there's bound to be a few conflicting ones (from the top of my head, Aleste and Xak... I'm sure there's more).
thats your opinion. but i think is has.
This is one of the few cases where I'm confident enough to state it as a fact =P
Again Samor the do't got copyright for all thos games.. and i think the did that becourse msxposse get more atention then mrc so the did not like it.
Msx Mbox is online on msxposse for more than a year so after a year(and the know it) the make a problem out of it???
I am sorry, but I don't think this has anything to do with it. I think you are way off!
But still we have a vey strange situation...
It's almost like Tim Kuick from BREIN would also work on a website of a Rolling Stone fan web site, where they would link toward sites with bootleg recordings. That is the situation we have now with Bazix/Woomb/MSX.ORG.
I don't see Bazix as the MSX equivalent of Brein... or as a company that solely exists to enforce copyrights. Again, I think they're mostly protecting their own products, and not much else.
Indeed, Bazix aren't even half as harsh as Brein/RIAA/ESA(IDSA). tfh: I see your point though, and it's indeed a strange situation. But the double snout thing has been discussed already, let's not go into that again. Snout's a great guy, I'm sure he's able to handle that situation fine.
No one cares anyway, except that handful o' ppl who moan for the sake of moaning towards MRC and/or Bazix on a structural basis, we all know exactly who they are and where they are. There are currently worse things in the MSX world than this, do something useful with your time I'd say. I mean, how sad can one be to crap around about this subject all day long? Don't you have something better to do? I know I do. (and luckily another thousands o' MRC visitors do).
I mean, in orders of magnitude it's equal to go complaining at your local supermarket because the cheese you bought there has one hole too many. People seem to do count cheeseholes all day long it seems.
Although both are seperate organisations, we do have a situation that is simply not correct:
*Snout takes/initiates action to take down MSXBOX, since it's illegal
*Snout allows newsposts on MRC, pointing towards illegal software
This is both a conflict of interest and simply un-ethical. When it's for the good for MRC, he will let it go. When it's for the bad of Woomb, he takes action. He should measure MRC by the same standards as he would others, and he simple doesn't to that.
Please not there is no such thing in this case as "less illegal".
MSXBOX is just as illegal as BlueMSX. One is hunted, the other is promoted.
So uhm, you want MRC to stop reporting news on BlueMSX? Fine, we'll solely report on OpenMSX then from now on.
dvik: sorry mate!
