(updated (still a bit quick & dirty though..) Wink)

(Any takers for a web version of the Slot Machine? Sounds are accounted for Wink)
(Guillian/Manuel did already some proper investigation ;))

Btw: using the +SFX toggle can cause some unwanted side effects (bug) (when using it after having started playback already), so you know...

Btw2: arrangement request/suggestion @ the JohnHassink: Hinotori Main Theme with drums throughout? I think you'll agree that's a good idea and a worthwhile undertaking (am I right?) :)

(KSS is Alive! ;))

Tried to start with making a Hinotori SCC medley once, but it turned out to be such a failure that I lost interest and motivation.

So far, I really enjoy your work on the online KSS player a lot BTW. :)

P.S. Not 100% if, with "Main Theme", you meant the in-game music, or the ditty that's played at the title screen and during the ending.

In the latter case, that's actually based on this:

(mild spoilers for anyone who still wants to watch the actual anime)

Those percussion lines from the original could be reproduced, theoretically even on PSG-only (with some trickery).

Hi John, thanks, glad you're enjoying! Smile (That All★Stars list is pretty on-point (already) don't you think? Wink)

So I know that, apart from John, you all love(d) the Penguin Player. You'd believe it if I said my 5 years old daughter did the styling there LOL!

Today I present to you: The Player of Uṣas / ウシャス / Ushasu !

Of course I still have to implement the mood selecta amongst other things (it's playing the neutral mood tunes now).

(And okay, I will style the Penguin Player accordingly... ;))

Functioning of play/stop should have been improved.

Btw: so IE11 is unsupported (ATM) & at times the player isn't ready yet when pressing play, then try again after a tiny moment.

(And those annoying fade / track transition 'pops' that may occur occasionally are high prio on my to-do/fix list!)

Enjoy (again) :)

@John: I mean the main in-game music (the one in the playlist and 2nd tune in your WIP/abandoned TT arrange). I'm not surprised you already have been working on something, I first had to (double)check your uploads indeed Wink

Hey, if you ever find the motivation again, you already got some groundwork done Smile (Going on what I hearing there, I do think the drums could be a little snappier overall.)

The Ushas player has been updated btw (not complete yet, but we're getting there Wink)

I know the PSG is pretty loud (SCC tunes), I do kinda like that myself, but I'm planning on building/integrating a webNEZ core where the PSG vol is toned down a bit. Then you may pick the one you favor Wink (Of course sweetest would be to be able to control the levels via sliders and/or have presets that can be applied at runtime.. Future?)

A very convenient solution for listening to original MSX songs, thank you. Probably you already know this link to KSS files:

Hi PAC, thanks for your comment, glad you're enjoying!

Thanks for the link, yes I know of the resource, probably the KSS files listed there are in my archive/collection already Smile

(btw: I was wrong about the 'neutral' tunes, these are the happy ones (they do come first in the .kss) (and it's the mood W & C start out with Smile))

If you still intend to implement mood selection for Usas then I'd just like to give a small heads up: in ruins 2, 4 and 5 Angry plays in a lower key than Sad, while in ruins 1 and 3 the opposite is true. This is a bit counterintuitive because in the KSS they are presented in the Happy, Neutral, Sad and Angry sequence for each of the five ruins, and we expect the key to always go down, but that's not what happens. I checked against a full gameplay and I can confirm the KSS sequence is correct, despite sometimes our intuition wanting to tell us otherwise.

Thanks for the pointer Parn, but I think I'll leave it be (for now). (I'll implement it when I'm bored beyond believe or something Wink)

Still e.g. have to integrate playlist display in the themed soundtrack players among other things.

Did various changes/improvements since Tuesday, might post more details later.

I was looking into integrating (the core of) MSXplay, which looked like, thanks to Okazaki's excellent all-round work, was going to be a relatively easy & nice job, but the player (official as well) kept stopping playback after some time, spiking the cpu / stalling the browser.. Found the offending code, will report!

Kinda of a must to have it aboard, NEZplug has some funky issues I found out (in hindsight I might have come across that in the past already..) E.g. in Gazzel - Floor of Flames: wrong instrument at some point, plus libkss'/emu2413's bass is (so) much fatter!

I do tend to prefer NEZplug for PSG/SCC stuff though. When you set MSXPSGType to 0 (which is supposedly AY-3-8910, default, 1, = YM2149) percussion sounds better IMO (tones like some snare/hats are somewhat longer / have more (horizontal) 'spread') and sound has more clarity to it. Also NEZplug's PSG seems to be less 'clicky' than Okazaki's emu2149.
The difference between the two NEZplug setting is kinda big, not sure how realistic that is?

Also: when double checking with OST recordings (online) (assuming they're genuine..) (seems the engineers love(d) reverb.. ;)) the percussion/PSG of NEZplug (w/ PSG type 0) seems to approach what I'm hearing better.

In Okazaki's player (in_msx) I can hardly note a difference between the two PSG settings (which should be more realistic?)
