Looking for a SVI 728 keyboard plunger

Today I have found a treasure. The missing key from my SVI 728 showed up in a box with items from the past. I knew it still had to be somewhere and I'm glad I was right.

So what happened? Long, long time ago, in the heat of the moment my SVI 728 fell on the ground and the + key on the numeric keyboard was broken. And it never got fixed. Last year I got my machines back, only that key was still missing. Until now. How great would it be to reunite the key with the keyboard after more than 30 years?

Can anyone help me getting a plunger? Ideally an original, but a 3d printed one will do as well.

It's easy to fix. Remove the broken part from the keyboard and glue the 2 parts together with Patex instant glue. Will hold for another decade.

Maybe. I think it has been glued in the past. But that may have been with very little glue, to prevent gluing the plunger to the hole. We haven't taken it apart back then.

I prefer a replacement plunger, if I can't find any, I will try gluing.

Is this what the whole plunger looks like? I could try printing some.

If you give me the exact measurements for this part, I could make you a 3D model and you could print the replacement part at a friend or yourself (if you have a 3D printer). I doubt you will be able to find the original part so easily.

I've made some keys and similar parts for CPC464, so I do have the experience.

Guess I'll have to take it apart to get some measurements then.

I have found one on the Spectravideo facebook group. Smile
