Hi Oelsha,

It works like a charm. Thank you very much for your time. Big smile
BlueMSX Launcher is really an indispensable program for MSX games lovers!

BTW, I have another improvement proposal for it concerning the places where BlueMSX Launcher saves the images in W10. I will try to post this afternoon in another post.

Thanks tono4 for confirming. The same build that you downloaded is now up on the website. And yes, feel free to request any more improvements.

Hi Oelsha,

In my BlueMSX launcher version, years finishes on 2020. Could it be possible to automatically have new years, i.e., 2021?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @tono4,
Sure, I can extend the year. It is supposed to automatically show the current year but I capped it at 2020 years ago to make sure the list doesn't get too long (in case someone runs the launcher in the distant future LOL! ). I can set the new limit at, say, 2030.
Do you have other suggestions, requests or translation fixes so that I include them in the new version?

Finally an alternative launcher to Catapult? That would be good news.

Did you try the openMSX built-in menu? Especially since version 17.0, it should be relatively friendly to use Smile

Well, not really as friendly as BM is. In fact, I don't like the openMSX inline menu at all. It is slow, for one.

To be honest; I have both blue and open installed on my system. I use openMSX for my coding work, for that it is brilliant. But for anything other, like simply playing a .ROM files, I prefer blueMSX. It is super user friendly, works quick and blends in the (windows) environment, something I can't say of openMSX.

openMSX is prolly written from a technicians perspective, while BlueMSX is from a user perspective. Big difference. I'm not complaing, because I like both. But for different reasons Smile

('talking 'bout the native bluemsx emu, not the external launcer)
too bad BlueMSX has zero maintenance these days..

Slow? When is it slow? What is slow about it? Can you please explain so I can improve it?

Hi @Oelsha,

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, I have another suggestion: screenshots from BlueMSX in W10 are stored in a quite remote folder (in my case C:\Users\Windows10\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\blueMSX\Screenshots). So everytime I add a game in BlueMSX Launcher it is necessary to move the screenshot to BlueMSX original directory.

I would add an option to choose screenshot location to avoid further annoy and to be able to store screenshots in a safe directory.

It is just a suggestion. may be other users think this is not worth enouth to trouble about it.

And, yes, I would add user statistic at BlueMSX Launcher, but this I suppose is a big upgadre.

Thank you for your program. Oelsha. It is fantastic for me!

Hi @tono4, I fixed the year limitation (extended to 2030). That was straightforward.
As for the screenshots, I am trying to understand your use case. It seems that you take your own blueMSX screenshots rather than using the ones that you can download from msxlaunchers.info. If that's the case, it seems that you're doing it for the very few games that are not already in www.generation-msx.nl, otherwise it'll likely be in the msxlaunchers screenshots package. When I implemented the show-screenshots features in the launcher year ago, it worked by getting the screenshot from the blueMSX screenshots/ folder, or by getting it from the msxlaunchers screenshots package (if it is added to the folder where blueMSX Launcher is located). I may be wrong, but you may be implying that the screenshots folder that you provided in your comment is different that the location where blueMSX is located. I'll have to test the blueMSX installer or look at the source code to see where this folder can be.
As for user statistics, unfortunately I stopped adding new features to blueMSX Launcher years ago (lack of time and also the development environment is very out of date). I still want to know what you mean though. There are game launch history and top 10 played games in openMSX Launcher, so is that what you have in mind for user statistics?
