Anyone have any suggestions on repairing this?

I took it apart and cleaned the contacts on the film connector with no luck, and am now wondering what to do to fix it. The film has no visible signs of damage.

Some keys work and others do not. the numpad and arrows work, space, return, e, g, 1, 2 , 3, 5 , 6, Backspace... Tab, to name some.

Shift does not, neither do p l y the key before backspace, and I cannot verify if ctrl does or not...

maybe someone has a replacement keyboard/film?

You could also try Padial's keyboard interface so you can connect a pc keyboard to it...

Key ghosting, and a lack of a relevant site prevent me from pursuing this suggestion

How much does that thing cost.

dont see price mention anywhere....

and, is there a readily available list of keyboards that are ps/2 with support for more than 3 keypresses?

K. Tsujikawa: pioneer msx keyboard for(HB-F1 XD),

Howdy, another solution is to score cheap Sony MSX2 with compatible keyboard assembly and do the swap.

I've heard of people swapping keyboards from Panasonic A1FX/WX/WSX into ST/GT.

If you can score a cheap broken/glitching MSX2 with good keyboard, then it's even better Smile

Otherwise, yes, a Padial or caro controller, and may be reseating the whole computer into PC AT case. I know Edu did something like this a few years ago, and it was a very cool setup.

I would like to keep the computer as original looking as possible.

Does anyone here have a failing MSX2 w/ useable keyboard assembly I could snag?
