The MSX platform has never been suffered a lot from viruses. As far as we know, there's only one MSX virus out in the open: the ZAPP virus, for which a nice antivirus utility exists as well.

This Spanish article describes the basic principles of developing a virus for MSX, whilst giving general information on how such a virus works. MSX developers: please use this knowledge wisely. One MSX virus out in the open is more than enough ;)

Hey, maybe we can create our own CIH type of virus epidemia! I've found even a way to break for good some Phillips MSX2 computers with pure software!!!

I think, that most people do not have antivirus TSR in their autoexec.bat so future epidemia is even easy to create!

People, don't be stupid! Don't write viruses and don't encourage people to write virus programs, there are plenty of other ways to use your creativity!

It depends...

Yes, that is a good example of focusing your MSX creativity.

... and ...

No, those programs do not harm your computer, dvik just really should not eat on top of his computer. Smile Just to make things clear, I would not ever give away code that could harm MSX hardware, software or users on purpose.
