After the votes were counted, it became clear that there was one favorite entry. The voted winner of #msxdev Compo 2014 is..
This announcement concludes the 2014 edition, which was, all in all, a success:
Two released games: one technically advanced game that will hopefully raise the bar for future MSX development, and a fun game that shows you don't need a complex graphics engine to stand a chance, but gameplay is still important (Mr. Balloon actually got 30% of the votes!). Also it inspired two more developers to start on a project, which will hopefully see the light of day, someday.
Perhaps some of those and other announced but unfinished games from previous editions will show up as entries for #msxdev Compo 2015? Registration for this year's edition is already open, so if you are interested in participating, or supporting the competition in other ways, feel free to visit the site for more information.
