Parodius - Strafefox review

Retrogamer and video creator strafefox is well known for his great videos that highlight classic MSX games. His latest endeavour is a review of Konami's Gradius spinoff Parodius.

Although Parodius was released on a lot of different platforms such as the Super Nintendo or the PlayStation, the game has its roots firmly in the MSX platform. Strafefox' video review not only gives an overview of the game, it also shows the early history of Parodius, the combo cart Easter eggs, the parody craziness and the later installments of the series. All in all a worthy overview of a worthy game. Have fun!

If I would have finished on the first day I got it in 1988 (and emulators were not invented), that same first day would still be going on now...
Hmmm... Coming to think of it... That wouldn't be so bad... Loads of nice goodies for sale in stores...

Of course, we played on real MSX, with no cheat at all. Pure hardcore.

Btw, Gradius 2 was harder, and Salamander even more.

Exactly, no cheats, pure hardcore but I never made those (Nemesis, Salamander, Parodius) games to the end. Very frustrating to see Game Over when you where nearly there.

Hail to the RPG Tongue
