Xavier, developer at La Gaseta Msx Magazine, is currently working on tools to facilitate cooperation and work for people interested in participating in a new production of a Disk Magazine for MSX/MSX2/2+/Turbo R.
As suggested, the team has been working specifically on tools geared towards collaborative work.
They are trying to setup an environment around Gamification. So everybody who play should have an avatar, tasks: pieces to program and develop, rewards: virtual payments.

The aim is to develop a disk magazine, through the medium of a ROM of 7MByte size (7104K), which is the maximum allowed to flash in MegaFlashRom SCC+ Manuel Pazos' cartridge.
The main would be compatible with both MSX as MSX2, so would be able to distinguish among those two versions. The programs and games included would use V9990 graphics, MSX, MSX2+ graphics. Next to that, the sound options would be Moonsound, FM, SCC, and PSG.
The main goal should be a maximum ROM size that uses the maximum of the MSX capabilities.

The Disk Magazine "La Gaseta MSX #4" will be released with the paper magazine "La Gaseta MSX #4", expected in December 2018 or later. The disk magazine would be free to download for everybody. Stay tuned!

Problem is that most of the stuff that comes from Spain is in Spanish only... that limits the participation of non Spanish speakers. Se supone que debo hablar español ya que soy de California Tongue

Does that mean Vampier is right? Because if so, I find it a bit weird. If I were to revive our 90s Dutch diskmagazine the last language I would choose would be Dutch. I'd love to expect the same from other publishers.

Language would not be a problem. You can join, and add a task, translate the text you worry about yourself or others who are worried as well. Submit. Code it. Submit. You will have your points. And Disk Magazine in language yourself or others wish. Just so rewarding. Thanks for your comment.

I can only compare the modern times and old days of the country I am from. In the 90s it was very logical to publish in Dutch because there was a huge audience in this country, bigger than the international audience available today. There was no internet, so there was not a lot to gain abroad besides a personal letter plus disk to a hand full of people you met personal on international fairs (Tilburg/Zandvoort).
That time is behind us. Almost everybody left the scene and the ones who didn't leave come from all over the world to this site to communicate. In order to make this site understandable for as many people as possible English was chosen as the language.
Making MSX productions in a language only a part of the scene understands is not only disregarding a big group of people, but it marginalises the interest in the product as well.
English by default makes the knife cut on both sides.
I hope you will release the disk magazine in English. Either exclusively or next to a Spanish version. There are enough Spaniards who are very skilled in English, so translation by native speakers should not be a problem Wink

Something else to take in account:
Keep in mind that filling 7MB requires a shipload of texts. A typical 90s 720K disk magazine contained about 50 to 60 texts next to the graphical/musical interface and the extra software. It'll take a lot of time and effort from a lot of people to fill that. I hope you can release news worthy articles. There is internet now, so saving articles to the release should be as short as possible in order to avoid releasing old news. This can partly be avoided by writing a lot of reviews/courses.

I wish you a lot of luck and wisdom with the project and am curious what the result will be.

Nobody will be marginalized, neither any language would be marginalized.
If Spaniards wish to write in english, spanish or whatever feel welcome. If Dutch poeple want to colaborate in Dutch feel welcome.

I can't run a disk magazine through a translator and having a mix of languages is mostly a bad idea. Just saying and I wish you good luck.
