Who among the Dutch audience here hasn't dabbled with Tempo Typen back in the day? This MSX2 title from the company Radarsoft is originally completely in Dutch.

Whether to get more skilled at typing using the typing course, or play the typing game that came included; both the course and the game have been translated from Dutch to English. On top of all this, there's also an MSX themed version created to type in true MSX style; words in the game and in the courses are MSX themed.

So whether you need to brush up on your ten finger technique or want to show of your mad skills to the computer, now also the Non Dutch MSX people can do so in style.

Tempo Typen was fully translated by MSX Translations with the help of BiFi. The translation is freely available as a patch. Have fun with it and be sure to check out the MSX themed patch as well.

it reminds me a bit of "Typing Of The Death" on the Dreamcast. Without death, of course. Too bad the original "game" is not freeware.

It's not freeware indeed, but last year I asked their permission to add their games to my site:

Roughly translated: They are happy to see that these antique games keep on working through emulation and that as long as I am not asking money for my site they are OK with it.
So I took the liberty to add the English/MSX version of "Tempo Typing" as well.

Great work guys!
I have a feeling some of the Dutch words might need updating to the latest spelling as well. Wink Is there a dump of all the words we can have a look at?

I did a quick scan of the Dutch words, but I think they should be still ok above all expectation, so probably no need, but if you want new Dutch words or something those can be added. Not hard to make another version, just need roughly 100 words of roughly the same length and or roughly 45 sentences.

There is probably no point in translating the game words directly. They have no meaning, but were chosen for their order and contents of characters... Tricky to keep that at the same level... Specialist work!

Sorry, I didn't. I only offer some FONY stuff for download on my site.
All the MSX games are only playable, as that is the sole intention of my site. Giving a nice and easy way for people to relive some MSX nostalgia. For downloading MSX warez, there are plenty other resources.
On the other hand, if you take a look at the .html sources, it shouldn't be hard to get your hands on the files. And, for diskimages, WebMSX allows you to simply save the current disk image. But I wasn't the one who told you ;-)
