The interest in MSX computers is growing worldwide - so we are not surprised that even in former Commodore territory more and more people are interested in our beloved system. To stimulate this growing interest, an MSX-meeting in Stuttgart, Germany is being organized in June this year. A new initiative for MSX geeks to get together.

There's a charming place in Stuttgart on a former gardening site, hosting a greenhouse and a petit café, that would be a perfect place to have 8-bit lovers to join and share their enthusiasm for the old machine. On June, 18th and 19th 2022 this will be base ground for just that. An MSX meeting for any one to join-in featuring a game compo, showing of old and new MSX models, exchange news and gossip, share a drink and have a barbeque.

The site is close to the Daimler and Porsche Museum, a perfect opportunity to combine while visiting - it's worth it.

The date has been st on 18th and 19th of June hasn't been set, there's a little poll for that to pick the perfect one. Pick your favorite weekend and vote. You decide the date on Doodle. This poll will close on May 1st, leaving some time to organize the meeting. The site is very easy to reach by public transport, parking is also available. Leave a comment to get advise on nearby hotel.

The address for this party is:
Café TaS
Böckinger Str.9
DE-70437 Stuttgart

Cool! Are you planning a one day event? Or will it be a weekend event? Sounds cool, However I am not sure if June fits for me because of work and my holidays.

Nice! I doodled.
@ro: Nope, sorry. I have to be picky here: "Lederhosn" are for Bavarians, here we will meet in the "Schwabenländle".
But they share the same eating habits. LOL!

Very nice activity Hamlet. Thank you for that.
I will need to plan for this ahead and would need to book a hotel - ironically Stuttgart is less easy to get to from Cologne than Nijmegen.

We have enough space to give your MSX a place to be. Let me know, if you need a monitor.

Super! I'll start thinking about which traditional clothing to wear. I guess... kind of like this (but without the horse).

No problem, but we need to check first with @Hamlet where the closest barn and water trough are located. Wink

BTW, no mean to put any pressure, but can we expect soon a rough explanation of which activities you are planning for each of Saturday/Sunday? Or is it going to be a no-schedule, all free and spontaneous meeting?

Grüße!

We will set up some MSX to work on and share experiences.
Also a new MEGA65 will have to compare to the MSXVR - at least in our Wizard of War competition on Saturday afternoon.
There will also be a room with some older game consoles.
Saturday we will have some bbq in the garden, Sunday I will organize a breakfast. It is also possible to order Pizza from a service close to the location.
Apart from that we will use the days as a relaxed get-together and of course we are open for any suggestions or initiatives to fill this weekend with fun.

On a budget
Stayed here, too. Nice and cheap.
Our meeting is located close to an overground railway station and can be reached by public transport from all over Stuttgart for 2.80 euros. This expands the circle of hotels.

Thank you so much @hamlet for hosting the event. It was amazing! To meet all the lovely people, chat with them, learn from them was great. And your collection of vintage computers is mind boggling.

I big "thank you" to you, hamlet, for organising the event. I have really enjoyed meeting all you guys, having discussions on hardware, programming and software - I have already started "working" through the list of game recommendations you have given to me. And of course I have enjoyed this incredible collection of computers (and video games) of yours, hamlet. It appears that I was so busy with everything that I completely forgot to take any pictures - so no proof of me holding a Space Manbow cartridge in my hands, neither any of the rare computers (not only MSX but also the Enterprise for example).

Same here. Huge kudos to Hamlet for organising such a cool event and sharing whis us his awesome collection and "headquarters facilities" so generously. Also for giving many of us the first chance to talk to each other face to face instead of over a computer screen. It was a pleasure meeting all of you guys!
