In two and a halve weeks, the annual MSX Fair in Nijmegen will take place. This fair is the only pure-MSX fair left in The Netherlands since the discontinuation of the MSX fair in Bussum. And here's a bit o' news you may not have seen coming: the current list of participants is bigger than in previous years, so there will be more to enjoy on this event. Let's have a look at the current list of participants!

  • openMSX Team - Demonstration of openMSX 0.7.2., some of the latest developments like the new reverse feature and Laserdisc emulation, the new Catapult and the debugger GUI. Also, openMSX running on the Dingoo A320 will be demonstrated.
  • Trilobyte - Demonstration of Trilobyte projects.
  • Team RyJuZo - Demonstration of all game development tools which have been used to create Raziel's Revenge, and a sneak peek of this game. The demo will show how easy it is to make games with these new tools.
  • Bitwise - Demonstration and sale of MSX games.
  • Bas Kornalijnslijper - Repairs, expansions, cables, parts, buy and sale of second hand MSX hardware.
  • Walter - Exhibition of computers, accessories and MSX games. Sale of T-Shirts. Filming the fair.
  • Delta Soft - Demonstration and sale of home made software and the release of their latest game Thunderbirds To The Rescue on disk and CompactFlash.
  • MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg - Promotion of MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg.
  • Stichting Sunrise - Sale of Nowind, GFX9000, MP3 Player, MoonSound, storage box for CF-interface and the games Knightlore MSX2, Manbow 2 and other Sunrise software. Also demonstration of an SCC+ cartridge prototype and the prototype and packaging of DenYoNet, an ethernet cartridge for MSX.
  • The New Image - MSX game figurines and MSX merchandise.
  • SuperSoniqs - Demonstration of Franky and hopefully the MIDI-PAC.
  • MSX Club West-Friesland - Promotion and sale of MSX equipment, including books, magazines, software and hardware.
  • Bonami Spelcomputer Museum - Promotion of the Museum. Demo set up of a special MSX with Sega option. Also some spare MSX (and other) goods for sale and some Japanese MSX machines.

Especially the sale of the Nowind interface is joyful news, keep an eye on this device for it can revolutionize cross development! And what about Franky, the SEGA-meets-MSX device from SuperSoniqs. All the more reason to pay this fair a visit, even if you are from abroad! If you feel like doing something funny on the stage, contact the organizer. After the fair, the nearby Chinese restaurant will present their food to that same old MSX gang again. If you wish to participate in this cozy feast, make sure you reserve your seat, for it's limited to 35 persons.

The openMSX text is a bit outdated, probably because we delivered it a couple of months ago on registration. The demonstrations will likely include the Dingoo as mentioned, the new reverse feature (used to make the walk/fly-throughs of Vampier and Hydragon) and LaserDisc emulation.

FiXato: Acorn 2 is totally in the fridge at the moment, since I haven't found a coder with time to help with it and I lack the skills to do it alone. Crying
