Jan Lukens, a.k.a. Jalu just entered the challenge with his 414bytes large BASIC snowfall demo. Jalu tells us to grab our TurboR's if we like speed, but it'll run just fine on any MSX 2+.

Eh, it uses the set scroll command, so it requires at least an MSX2+ machine... Smile

I have no idea Tongue
I think it's just a memory mapper Smile

It's probably better to change the setscroll into a vdp(24) next time Wink

The data cardridge where not mappers. Simply ram on a slot. I used to have one of 16KB from sony. It is not used supported by dos2. Memman did support it.

Ah, but a mapper would do aswell, I'd guess... If you don't touch the #FC-#FF mapper registers they are the same...

Hmm, seems it doesn't work for me... Hmm, my RAM is in slot 3-2. Let's see if I can change that. In the meantime, changing the SETSCROLL 0, into VDP(24)= did the trick aswell Smile. Well, somewhat, at least... It gives an error after 212 lines Smile.

Ah, hm, nevermind, strangely enough the subrom thing works now Smile. Guess I made a little mistake somewhere... Ah, I see, the MSX2PLUS.LDR file loads itself to relocate, and I didn't save my changes in the file.

Ah, seems I didn't post the message in which I said I changed the 8F value (slot 3-3) into 8B (slot 3-2) in the loader. Anyways, surprisingly enough (or maybe not...) it also works in DOS2. Though I guess it only works until a program is allocated mapper segment 2 of the internal mapper... But that shouldn't happen very soon.

Well, anyways, back on topic, nice demo Jalu ;p. And I see why you used the MSX2+...
