On December 23rd we started the MRC Scene Music Remake chalenge. Last week, we extended the deadline to March 5th. With less than three weeks to go, the time has come to announce the juror of the challenge: Loek van Kooten.

In the 1990's Loek van Kooten was the initiator of LoVaKo software which later merged with MSX-Futurist in order to become MSX Engine, an MSX group known from -amongst others- their Dragon Disk diskmagazine, their hardware and software import activities and their games Dizzy, Dix and DASS. MSX Engine later moved on to become Engine Software. Loek van Kooten did not join Engine Software however, but started his own translation company called Akebono. As Galbatron, Loek released several albums with synthesizer tracks, including the synthesized soundtrack to DASS.

With the MRC Scene Music Remake Challenge you can win an MSX T-Shirt or a chiptune record composed by the Japanese chiptune artist BeepBoy. Find out all about the competition right here. You can send your finished entries in mp3 format (192kbps preferred) to smr@msx.org. Please do include a small description on the equipment you used and how you created the remake. The challenge is opened until March 5th, 23:59 CET.

I think you'll just get a bonus if you remake scene music in Studio FM.

That's a Japanese thing... The V is replaced by a B... For example... start up Quarth and go to configuration... There you'll see LEBEL in stead of LEVEL.
