Konami announced they will release a limited edition of their succesful Playstation 2 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake eater in Japan on March 29th, 2005. This Metal Gear Solid 3 Extreme Box contains no less than 4 DVDs with behind-the-scenes footage, movies and extra documentation.

The most interesting extra that comes with the MGS3 extreme box, to MSX users, is probably the book that comes with it: The History of Metal Gear. MSX is very likely to get mentioned quite a lot as the first two editions of the game, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, were released on MSX first. The latter even remained an MSX exclusive title for almost 15 years, until Konami Japan decided to re-release the game on mobile phones earlier this year.

The games website Games are fun have already published a picture of the MGS3 box set, which you can watch over here. At the moment it's not clear whether or not the Metal Gear Solid 3 extreme box will be released outside of Japan.

The Picture(in the link) is of the premium packaged not of the extreme package. Unless they just put in 2 dvd's extra and kept the rest of the concept the same but I don't think so.

Meits: Hideo Kojima was not involved in the development of Snake's revenge. The MSX version is the -real- Metal Gear 2, part of the saga.

It's an entirely different story, and not really a good interpretation of the idea behind "tactical espionage games". So I'd say: it matters quite a bit Wink

MeitsNearDark:

Just to make things clear - MG2:SS and Snake's Revenge are just different games that have nothing in common, and SR can't be considered as the part of the saga.
