As we reported earlier, Falcom announced a new Ys game, of which little more than the title was known. Now, more information and screen shots can be found on the Ys: The Oath in Felghana website. You might notice that this game is not called 'Ys 7'. A closer look at the website makes clear that this game has much to do with Ys 3 - Wanderers from Ys. The screen shots tell that the game looks very much like Ys 6 - The Ark of Napishtim, but the description of the story and the game characters make it likely that this game is a special remake of Ys 3, featuring a lot more than the original. It's perfectly clear that the game takes place in exactly the same setting as Ys 3. It's planned for release in June 2005.

Afaik, it *is* a remake of Ys 3. But I can’t recall the place where I read that, unfortunately.

Or was it a sequel to Ys 3? Damn my memory! Actually, I think that was it.

There are not many details written about the story on the website yet and the details that are available are insufficient to be fully able to say whether or not it is a remake, but I surely got the impression that this is some special remake, based on Ys 3 but extended with many other things.

Here's a review in English: http://www.ntsc-uk.com/review.php?platform=ps2&game=Ys3
MSX is mentioned, although their conclusion is negative.

They're right saying that Ys 3 is a pretty small game (so are Ys 1 and 2), but nevertheless I think it MUST be fun to play a PS2 version of the game. Even if you're through in only five hours Smile
