On the ASCII MSX Magazine website, a full photo report of the MSX festival, held last weekend, was added. 23 nice pictures show some interesting new things, like MSXPLAYer running on different types of PDA's, the USB ROM cartridge reader, and pictures of booth-contents (even one with a Moonsound and GFX9000!) and people selling the coolest MSX Merchandizing. The mugs and T-shirts were completely sold out. Also, there are some pictues of the interview with the editors of MSX Magazine. It got so crowded, that some people had to sit on the floor.
The MSXPLAYer was demonstrated on PDA's kindly offered by Toshiba, Kyocera and Tao Japan, and on PC's offered by NEC. It is unclear, but not unlikely whether or not these companies will play a role of some kind in future steps of the MSX revival.
Most important, a full list of the products demonstrated is listed on the site. Here's a translation:
- MSXPLAYer beta demo on platforms such as Zaurus and PocketCosmo
- USB ROM Cartridge reader - test version
- Several rare MSX Machines
- Non-Japanese MSX hardware
- Demonstration of the power of MSX: animation (EVA)
- Demonstration of the one chip MSX prototype
- MSX quiz 'Who's the MSX king?'
- Interview with the editor and former editor of MSX Magazine on a second edition of MSX Magazine collectors edition
- All issues of MSX Magazine and related issues
- Sale of T-shirts and mugs
Also, a list of the demonstrated hardware was posted.
