After releasing several patches for ExecROM today and earlier this week a new version of ExecROM itself was released by Adriano Camargo Rodrigues da Cunha as well. ExecROM can be used to load ROM files into a MegaRAM cartridge. New in this version:

  • Added support to 4, 8, 1024 and 2048KB ROMs
  • Added support for patchfiles with size up to 4GB
  • Fixed a bug that caused some patchfiles not to work

The 8KB ROM support allows many entries from the succesful MSXdev'04 competition to be played from MegaRAM cartridges. ExecROM can also be used to run ROM files of max. 32KB without using a MegaRAM cartridge.

Just a remark: 4, 8, 16 and 32KB ROMs can be loaded by ExecROM without needing a MegaRAM. A MegaRAM is necessary only for MegaROM images (48, 64, 96, 112, 128, 256, 384, 512, 768, 1024 and 2048KB).
