In the village of Telerín the wise rule, the wise can perform magic, and only they get recognition.
But Mag is not a wise man, and they will not let him be unless he recovers the five pages of the great book of spells.
Two pages are kept by the wise, two were stolen by the orcs, and the final one was lost.
Recover the pages and you can become a wise person in the eyes of the elderly.
Beware of the pages in the hands of the orcs, one of them is the orc king in person!

Radastan is working on converting his game "Mag The Magician" to our beloved MSX. There is reportedly still a lot of work to do, but for now, the ZX Spectrum version can be downloaded to try out.

I also converted "Misco Jones - En Busca de la Vah-Ka Perdida", but no time to make a video.

Great that it works. The spectrum version seems to be using smaller steps for the player movement, making it look smoother... Can that still be improved?

mtini, sorry for my comment above, but the fact is that the port is not using msx capabilities and looks very choppy
Looking at the pictures in the news I was expecting screen 2 graphics and sprites

I think you got confused. There are/will be two versions of the game.

There is the version made by mtini, which is a straight Spectrum port, with all the Spectrum graphics.

The other version, the one that is mentioned in this news, is the one the original game developer Radastan is making for MSX, possibly with better graphics.

Looking forward to both, even though I might be only playing the original Spectrum version. Smile

Thanks. I made this and other conversions just to learn something about how to convert games from ZX Spectrum.

It´s because is a direct conversion from ZX Spectrum version, make no uses of MSX capabilities. No problem with your comment. Thank you.
