In the early and mid-nineties MSX Club Gouda was one of the thriving forces behind the immense activity of the MSX community in those days. MSX Club Gouda was one of the biggest resellers of MSX software and hardware. A lot of dutch people bought their turboR computers from MSX Club Gouda. Together with FCS (First Class Software, who also created the FAC-demos, C-Qenser, Turnix and more...) and Unicorn (who made cool MSX-Music songs) they released Quasar every 3 to 8 weeks. Quasar was a diskmagazine containing news, rumours, tips for games, reviews and educational articles for novice and advanced developers. Every Quasar started with an often funny demo starring Jack Vetnek. Unfortunately most of the contents of Quasar are in dutch, but most of the mags also contain an international section with some English news from those days. Here's the full list of Quasar magazines we just added.

***Update

Thanks to Maarten ter Huurne, Benoît Delvaux and Martos correct versions of Quasar 02, 15, 26, 29 and Quasar Special were added to this list. We now have the complete archive of all Quasar diskmagazines, fully working, in our downloads database. Thank you very much!

I found Quasar 15 and sent it to Snout. I don't have the others, so please look at your collection to see if they are there.

Quasar 29 can be found on funet. (Quasar 15 as well, I should have checked there before digging up the floppies.)

I would like to thank the (former?) MSX Club Gouda for sending to me Quasar disk magazine number 21 in 1993 (10 years ago!).

I wrote a letter to MSX Club Gouda and they kindly sent to me their disk magazine. How slow was the communication between users/groups in that time!

Although I only had a MSX1 in 1993 I managed to read some txt files (in dutch!) using the 'type' MSX-DOS command Smile

Ok, now all we need is Quasar 2. It had a nasty copyprotection. If you download Quasar 3 you can see quite an entertaining newspost about it. Even MSX Club Gouda couldn't copy the disks for distribution Wink

Very interesting and complete collecction , of the quasar fanzines , only a little problem
the link to quasar Special on the news archive directs to quasar 29 . Once corrected it would be perfect.
