"Today is the village fest and Stevedore is going to go to the dance with the beautiful lighthouse keeper! So you are in a hurry to finish the job placing boxes in the warehouse and leave work as soon as possible. Suddenly, something cracks under your feet..."

This is the story behind Stevedore, a new game developed by theNestruo, the winner of the MSXBlog MSX-BASIC compo 2011 with Pérez de Mouse.

This project consists of a puzzle-platformer game style where we have to find a way to reach the next stage moving objects. The game will be released in an small ROM format and will feature optimized palette for MSX2 computers. Music is composed by Wonder. Release date expected by the end of this year or beginning of 2019.

Wow! Looks so cool! I'm always surprised what people can do with minimal colors and pixels.. the results are amazing in this game! To bad i'm not that well in graphics..

Thanks!

I'm not that good at graphics... Actually, the tileset of the first stages is heavily based on some old ZX Spectrum mock-ups (this and this) from Carnivius (used with permission).

The game was shown live at RetroEuskal 2018, but I'm afraid there isn't any video...

In the screenshots #2, #3 and #4 there are 2 levels of grey color (plus white). This is raising some questions. Is this a mockup done on another system?

Not mock-ups, but actual game screenshots taken in MSX2 (using the optimized palette).
Here is one of those screens in MSX1 :)
