Team Bomba releases WOEI demo

In this forumthread we announced the return of the 'Scroll and logo demos'. Some forummembers decided to team up and started creating a really old school MSX-scene demo. Latok, one of the msx.org crewmembers, volunteered to program the whole demo, he isn't that much of a programmer, though. In fact, he has never programmed a smooth scroll before. Soon, this new MSX demogroup will start a thread in the msx.org forums in which they will talk about their findings, their progress and their difficulties they encounter during the making of this demo. Hopefully, this will encourage other msx freaks, who don't consider themselves being msx professionals but do enjoy the creative side of MSX, to go and give it a try themselves.

Even before a single byte of this new demo has been written, some real MSX die-hards got inspired by the idea and started making a 'Scroll and logo demo' themselves. And here we have the result already! Team Bomba, or should we say Team Woei, proudly presents a real old fashioned MSX-scene demo, named 'WOEI'. What are you waiting for?! Download the demo, turn on your speakers and start reading the scroll to see if you're in them greetings!

More information on this demo and Bombaman, Team Bomba's upcoming game, can be found at Bombaman HQ

GREAT demo!!! 9 days after the start of the scroll & logo forum thread. Amazing.
The bouncing logo over the moving grid looks very very impressive and uhm...

I'm in a really nostalgic mood right now Wink

wolf_, unfortunately the MWM replayer is too slow for that. It could be done, but not for the whole picture. Skipping about 20 screenlines would be enough.

Nice demo! I especially like the wavy effect in the scroll.

I cannot resist asking: was Isabel your muse?

hehe, no, Isabel was not our muse. You should really ready the scroll text Tongue

BTW, the newspost didn't mention the fact that the sourcecode of this demo is available at our HQ. So, all wannabe demo-coders, start leeching now!

That would be another idea (maggoo): another SRP (Sunrise Picture Disk.. euh!!)

remember the 'millenium demo' we've tried to get of the ground a few years? ago?
oh, I have yet to check the demo. so no comment on that. sorry.. I bet it's okay though.huh, word up!

Oh yeah, the millenium demo thing *L* Well it's kinda late for that now anyway, let's wait for the next millenium...

Another SRP ?? Smile

That would be like whistleling the national anthem while eating a banana..( isn't it Ro?)

first of all: it can't be regular, since no-one makes guarantees about deadlines..
seoncd: once someone makes it, it gets released anyway, so a new picturedisk would be like a big zip containing all the DSK's or msx files we already have..
