Just wondering: it's no problem regarding copyrights etc. to put these system ROMs in an Android app?
This is really ancient stuff that poses primarily historic interest nowadays. Still, if Microsoft sends a DMCA notice, I will take it down and you will have to supply your own ROMs again.
OK, so you're just trying it out. You don't have to state something about copyrights to Google before you can put it on the App store?
Hello, All!
Just updated the fMSX-Android emulator to version 3.5.9. The new version will automatically save state on exit so that you can restart from the point where you have left off. I also changed the virtual joystick layout a little bit, to make fire buttons more comfortable. Finally, due to many requests, I am releasing the ad-free version of fMSX-Android. You can get it from
market.android.com/details?id=com.fms.fmsx.deluxe
The free, ad-supported version is still available at
market.android.com/details?id=com.fms.fmsx
Have fun!
Fixed a bug with file names containing spaces not being open. Please, update.

Hmm, Android market sais my Xperia Play is incompatible. I saw someone else with this problem earlier in this forum, does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

fMSX-Android needs Android 2.2+. 2.1 will not do, sorry.
Hi, I have some doubts, maybe someone here can help.
Is there any difference between payment and free versions? (apart of the adds)
I've used just a few roms to test, it seems to run games quite well but are unplayable for me because touch area for keys and fire buttons invade the game screen. Have someone used any of those cheap controllers for android?
I founded a debugger mode in wich you can see memory content and so... but I can not found it now It's not an update problem, it's just I can not find the option
I've been searching for half an hour... options are not so many... am I so blind??
Thanks for advance
There is a better MSX emulator for Android : MSX.emu, based on blueMSX. Contrary to fMSX-Android, it's not free ($7.99).
