@Samor: Yes. As MSX is basically a computer, having a real physical keyboard really helps operating fMSX. A Bluetooth keyboard may also work. Lacking all these options, fMSX-Android provides a virtual keyboard, although you do you have to keep in mind that it is far less comfortable than a physical one.

That's true, especially when it's a home computer. I don't think touch controls are optimal for replacing a gamepad or joystick either, but it works fairly well. Perhaps I'll get a small bluetooth keyboard... I've been considering one before.
Speaking of which, are you going to implement support for the gamepad on the x-peria play (or is it already supported)?

Some additional suggestions:
-the d-pad area is really big; I think it might work better if it's smaller, or adjustable
-SCC sound volume seems low (at least, compared to the real MSX model I know). It'd be nice if it were adjustable as well (since it really differs per MSX model).

And I was wondering if you're planning to port VGB as well Smile

*edit* heh, look at this: http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/using-a-bluetooth-gamepad-with-your-android-phone/

So.. you'd not only have to hold your phone, but also a controller with two hands?

something like that.... or position the phone in some way that you don't have to touch it but have a clear view on it.

for anyone who watched my fighting with touchscreen controls (which is not an fmsx thing, but a generic problem), here's how I normally play Contra (old vid., though) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76yq9WfhoTM ;) :)

I suspect it is already supported: should just map to the standard Android directional buttons.

I can try make it smaller, dunno if it is going to work better or not though.

It definitely sounded all right in that YouTube video of yours. Anyway, you can control it with the overall Android volume control, I think.

It is already done but not yet published to the Android Market. Wait a few days.

the android market on your device doesn't list an app when it's not compatible. if it is, a search for fmsx will definately show it.
As fms stated earlier in this thread, currently fmsx does not yet support Android versions older than 2.3.

Thank you for your help, I currently am running droid 2.2 I guess I'll have to wait for AT&T to upgrade it to 2.3, I don't want to particulary root my phone just run an emulator. Thanks for the help
